Kourtney + Ben Engagement Pictures

I have always loved photography & everything that comes along with it. I take a million pictures of my kids (duh) but that’s about it. So I was super shocked/honored/excited/nervous when my sister’s best friend asked me to shoot her wedding! {Y’all, I am no professional, nor do I claim to be. BUT I hope to get to that point one day. I’ve got a lot to learn, but I’m having fun along the way.} So I told Kourtney that I would do their photos as my wedding gift to them, as long as she would help me get some more experience by spreading the word for me ;0). We did their engagement pictures a couple weekends ago & I’m pretty excited with how they turned out!

Again, I know I am no professional, but I’m kinda proud of these. Mainly because I had some awesome models to work with! ;0) And yes, there is a lot because of course I can’t choose just a couple favorites.

 

This is my all time favorite from the day! Love it & just how natural it is with Ben kissing her chin.

Ben works on the railroad so it was only fitting that we take some pictures on the train tracks!

Any tips from any of you pros out there are welcomed! I know the lighting was a little harsh in some, but you can’t change the time of day & position of the sun, so I worked with what we had.

Oh & thanks to Kourtney, I’ve already got 2 more sessions lined up! Yay!

Parties, Parties, and More Parties

Back on St. Patrick’s Day I helped my sister & some of her friends host an Engagement Party for Jamie’s best friend at our mom & dad’s house. Since it was on St. Patrick’s Day, they decided they wanted to do something with luck. I suggested a Pot Luck Supper. It worked out so great & that way one or two people weren’t stressing over getting all of the food ready. And we had a great variation. I also told Jamie that when sending out the invites, to put a notecard in with it & have each person write the recipe for the dish they were bringing. Then we could put them all together for Kourtney & Ben to keep.

The next week my best friend, who is pregnant with TWINS!!! had a revealment party. I could not wait to find out what those sweet babies were!

The verdict….

Her parents opened a gift & his parents opened one to find out boy or girl for each baby!

Then, the next weekend we went to Sophie & Sadie’s (more twins-what is in the water?!) 1st Birthday party.



Riley had a blast playing with some of his friends from school.



But Averly refused to get in the bouncies. I don’t know what was wrong with her that day because she has been in them before & loved them!

 

She did enjoy playing with baby Addie though.
