Blackmail
Lately Riley thinks it’s hilarious to get Averly’s hats, headbands, or sunglasses & wear them around the house. A couple nights ago he had on a headband with fluffy white feathers & her pink sunglasses. TAG totally messed up & said he looked like Elton John where Riley could hear. Then he started running around the house saying “I am Elton Joooohn!” It was quite funny & we got it on video! I kept telling TAG this is going to be great to show his future girlfriends or to put on his Senior video when he graduates high school!

Basketball games
This past Saturday we went to watch my old high school girls' basketball game. They have done so great this year & are now in the 2nd round of Regionals! We are cheering them on to State!!
This was Riley before we left. I couldn’t get over how grown up he looked in this outfit!
My parents met us there & the kids immediately wanted to sit in Bubba & Vivi’s laps! This was Averly’s first time at a basketball game & she was very overwhelmed at first. It took her a few minutes to warm up to the situation & all of the loudness. Riley has been to several games & he loves it. He kept asking if it was his turn to go play, though. Poor baby wanted to play so bad. Hearing him say that made me fast forward about 13-14 years from now when I will be watching him & Averly play high school sports! I will be a nervous wreck as much as I get into the game! I can't imagine how it will be when it’s my own kids playing!!
Riley is basically my dad’s shadow any time he is around him. On the way to the game we told Riley that his Bubba would be there & he lit up saying that he was “Going fishing with Bubba in the boat at the ribber.”
Little Miss finally got comfortable with her surroundings & all the people talking to her. {She is painfully shy.} Then she started walking back & forth between TAG & I. Constantly.

I can’t wait to watch the next round this weekend! It makes me miss playing so much! Go Lady Vikings!

The things he says
Riley is at the age where he is saying the cutest things. I just had to jot some of them down during the last week or so because I never want to forget.
He was talking to my mom about growing a garden & she asked him what he was going to grow. His answer was chicken nuggets.
He loves to ask everyone “What's your {favorite} animal/color?
“Blue for boys, pink for guweels.”
The other morning when I got Averly out of bed, he looked at her so sweetly & said “She's a angel!”
Anytime we get ready to go anywhere he asks “We going to Target?”
“Bubba has eyeballs.'”
“Happy Badentime’s Day! You my fam-ye. I lub you!”
“My birday is audust. Avy’s is Madch.”
He will hold his finger up to his cheek (like in this picture) and say "Now what was I going to do?" I know exactly where he got this from...ME. I am always forgetting what I went into a room for & he is always hearing me say that!
My big boy turned 2.5 last Sunday! Only 6 more months to 3 years old! WOW!
Also, thank y'all so much for all of your thoughts & prayers for TAG. Hopefully we will know something soon & hopefully it will be some good news!

Gotta love the weather here in the South
We went from this…
I think we got a total of about 5 inches of snow on the ground.
Riley wanted Buzz, Batman, Spiderman & a few others to see the snow. Looks like Buzz is hanging on for dear life to my coat! Haha!
TAG hit poor little Riley right in the forehead with a snowball. Riley loved it though & got him back! ;0)
…to this in a matter of 4 days. This week has been so nice & we have taken full advantage of soaking up the sun & almost 70 degree weather!
The kids finally got to ride in the wagon that Santa brought Averly. We walked/rode for over an hour on Monday after we ate lunch outside & played in the sun.
“Come on Riley!”
I am so glad Spring is right around the corner & we can enjoy many more days like these!
Please say a prayer for TAG today because has a job interview this morning. From what I understand it is a hard position to get & there are lots of applicants. We need LOTS of prayers that he gets this! Our family needs it so bad! Please & Thank you!

1 year old in less than 3 weeks
Sweet Baby Girl, I cannot believe we are so close to your 1st Birthday! How has a whole year almost passed us by already? You are growing like a weed & becoming such a beautiful little lady.
You are a sweet little girly girl that loves her bows & beads, but you are learning how to keep up with your rough & tough big brother too. You’re learning so much everyday from Riley. It’s so funny to watch you following right behind him trying to do everything he does.
You are very observant. Most of the time you will just sit back & take everything in that’s going on around you. Even strangers say how laid back you are when we are out somewhere. Although this is very true, you also know how to play up the drama! Mainly just to get Riley to leave you alone when he is trying to take your toys!
A few nights ago in the bath tub you got Riley’s play razor & started rubbing it on your face while saying “Dada”. It was the cutest thing ever, but we had a little talk about how girls shave their legs & underarms instead of their face! :0)
You have started giving kisses on demand. We’ll say give me some sugar & you will run over to us with your mouth wide open ready to plant a wet one on us. I love your slobbery kisses more than anything!
You’re also giving high fives on demand now. This is all thanks to your Dada. It melts my heart to see you so proud of yourself & giving high fives all around while your little feet stomp with excitement!
You love books & love to turn the pages when we read.
You are also quite the daredevil lately. You have been climbing up in Riley’s little chairs & seeing how much you can get away with when you stand up in them! You are so fast in doing it that I literally turn my back for 2 seconds & there you are standing in the chair. You’ve heard “NO” a lot lately & definitely know what it means, but you like to test your parents. I think you know how cute you are!
You are growing up so fast but you will always be my little Sugar Poo! Happy 11…and 1/2 months Angel Baby! I love you more than you’ll ever know!

An apple a day…
My child ate *most* of an apple on Friday. Then again on Saturday. And on Sunday he ate 2! This is totally unheard of from my super picky eater. I almost passed out when he asked me for an “apul” the other day. His normal diet consists of chicken nuggets, peanut butter & raisin sandwiches, grilled cheeses, cupcakes, crackers & pizza. He will NOT eat anything out of this realm. I have asked the pediatrician several times about it & he says that he is totally fine. Especially because the only juice he gets is the V8 Juice with the serving of fruits & vegetables. Plus we give him the Pediasure milkshake drinks to supplement.
Anyway, I was so surprised that he actually ate something good for him for a change!

Now if only I can get him to eat broccoli & green beans...

Our Superbowl Tailgating
We didn’t make it to any Superbowl parties or even have people over this year. We had a quiet little cookout before the game. Just us four. The weather was nice enough for the kids to play outside without freezing so we took advantage of it.
A quiet Superbowl Sunday was nice for a change. Very nice.
