More Fun Times at Bubba and ViVi’s

The kids stayed with my parents a couple days last week while I was working & TAG was out of town on business. My mom took pictures of some of the fun they had while they were there.

They played a little more in the bucket one morning before breakfast.

Rode around on the lawn mower with Bubba. (One of their favorite things to do!)

After they dried off, they came inside & Riley helped ViVi make some fresh lemonade while Averly napped.

And tied flies with Bubba. Riley is so ready to go on a fishing trip with him!

Then they finished up with a good bath.

They love going to their grandparents’ house! There is so much fun stuff for them to get into there!

Lucy’s Birthday Party

First of all, TAG got Riley his first pair of basketball shoes last week & they were both so proud of them. TAG had to get a picture of him in them. They are 3 sizes too big, but I thought it was sweet of Dada.

Picture 027

Saturday we went to my friend’s daughter’s Birthday party. Riley & Lucy are 3 weeks apart in age. Side note: I will have a 3 year old in 3 weeks!

We pulled up to their house & it started pouring. We ran inside & waited for it to slack up a little. Luckily, it did in just a few minutes & the sun started shining. Brittany did such a good job with everything. It was a carnival theme & so cute!

Waiting on the rain to leave.

Picture 030

Lucy’s cute cake & party favors. (The rain smeared the painted letters on her sign, but it was still precious.)

Picture 052Picture 051

Riley was so serious when it came to getting his face painted. Most kids asked for a balloon or a heart. Riley wanted a dinosaur.

Riley waiting on his cake. Haha I love his face in this picture!

Riley’s turn at hitting the piƱata.

Picture 067

He stuffed as much candy in his mouth as he could. Then choked & gagged right after I took this. Nice.

Picture 070

Sweet girl cheesing.

Picture 071

And he went back for more face painting. Another dinosaur.

Happy Birthday to Lucy! We had a great time at the party!

Blog Sale?

I am thinking about doing a blog sale for some of Riley & Averly's clothes. I've seen other bloggers do them & they seemed to be successful. What do y'all think? Would anyone be interested? I'll have to check sizes for sure, but I think most of Averly's would be anywhere from 6M or 9M to 12M. Riley's is really kind of all over the place, from 6M to 3T. Also I don't really know how much I have because most of it, I have already sold to friends.

So let me know...would you be interested in looking? I just want to know before I take pictures of everything & begin the whole process & then no one want anything! :)

Weekends at the river

We love being at the river every chance we get. Riley & Averly can’t wait to get in the water! They are my little water babies!

Picture 345 Picture 349

Riley “fishing” with his stick. This boy loves to fish! Friday he was begging his Bubba to take him to the “cold ribert” (river) where he fishes often. But Riley also loves the “hot ribert” where he can swim. {He calls the two rivers hot & cold because my dad trout fishes in the freezing river water & of course where we go out on the boat is much warmer.}

Picture 350

Averly would sift through the rocks to find the occasional shell. I love how meticulous kids are at this age. They could just sit & study the smallest things forever, it seems. When she found one she liked, she would hold it up & declare “seeellll”.

Picture 351

Riley’s hair just keeps getting lighter & lighter! He’s my little cotton top that looks like he doesn’t belong in our family of dark-haired people.

Picture 353

But Averly’s is actually getting much lighter, too.

Picture 354

TAG was showing Riley how to skip rocks on the water & he thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Picture 356Picture 357

Josh grilling us some hot dogs!

Picture 358

We had a first at the river last weekend! Both kids got to ride the jet ski for the first time! Riley wanted his Aunt Brooke to ride it with him first, then Dada.

Picture 366

Miss Priss had a fit to ride too once she saw how much fun Riley was having, so we let her for a quick minute.

Picture 370

It doesn’t look like it, but they really were going slow (even though Riley thought they were flying). I love hearing him tell people about riding it! He is so dramatic & really gets into his story with arm motions & all! He says “We jumped ober da wabes!!” & grins from ear to ear.
It is so much fun to see things from a child’s perspective when they do/see things for the first time.

Picture 371

Averly stayed awake as long as she possibly could, but who can blame her for crashing. Plus it’s so relaxing to sleep on a boat, too!

Picture 374

Last Sunday we went to a baby shower that Brooke helped host at her Mother-in-Law’s house. Everything was so nice. Check out that cake & cookies that Rhonda (Brooke’s MIL) made! She is seriously the jack of all trades! She also made all of the serving dishes. She makes pottery that is absolutely beautiful. Paula Deen has even featured her in her magazine!

Picture 376

My sweet, sleepy girl before the shower.

Picture 379

TAG came & picked the kids up about 1/2 way through so I could enjoy some time with the girls without tired, grouchy kids hanging all over me.

Picture 380

The HUGE 5-tiered diaper cake I helped Brooke make. I thought it turned out so cute!

Me, the guest of honor, Emily, & Brooke. Congratulations Emily! We can’t wait to meet baby Addison!

Trying to slow down

My heart is so heavy & aches for this family that said goodbye to their 8 month old son recently. Also, for some family friends who lost their dad in a car accident late last week. I can’t imagine the pain of either. Especially losing a child. I could barely read the whole post through my pouring tears today. It shouldn’t take instances like these to make us slow down & really enjoy what little time we have here on this earth with our loved ones. I make it a point every day to be sure that my family knows how much I love them. But I am really trying to put forth a more conscious effort to sit back & take in these precious moments with my babies.  I am so blessed. And thankful. And ready to go home & hold my babies tight.

They are my everything.

Hug your loved ones a little tighter than before & never forget to tell them you love them. Please keep these families in your prayers as well.
