I almost forgot what these blue skies look like

Picture 442 Picture 445

To say that I am tired of all this rain would be an understatement. But they are finally saying that we should have a couple nice days starting tomorrow before it starts up again this weekend. I just wish everything wasn’t flooded so we could actually get out & play!

Rain, rain go away! We want to go outside & play!

But for now, we’re doing a lot of this…

Picture 451

Sitting inside & watching a new movie that the Easter bunny brought. And getting into everything from pots & pans, to my shoes, to every single toy that they can get their hands on. My house is a disaster right now.

We are ready to be outside all day again!

River Run

Saturday morning we got up & headed to the river for some much needed relaxation. Averly did not sleep a wink Friday night so we were all exhausted. I didn’t bring my pack ‘n play to Brooke & Josh’s thinking I would use the one she had there. It ended up being so late that she fell asleep in the bed we slept in. I didn’t move her, but I so wish I did. She is a princess in all meanings of the word! Baby Girl loves her sleep & wants to be in her own bed. Not crowded snuggled up with anyone. She would sleep for 30 minutes or so, then scream & throw a fit. All night pattern. I think she was ready to get out on the water too!

The next morning she woke up smiling & all happy, much to my surprise.

She helped us pack up the cooler before we left.

Off to the river we go! Averly already had sleepy eyes on the 10 minute drive to put the boat in.

This was Riley & Averly’s first time on a big boat. Riley has gone out on my dad’s fishing boat once before but he didn’t quite know what to think & was a little scared at first. It didn’t take him long to warm up to it & then he had a ball!

We weren’t on the water for 5 minutes before Averly was out!

Picture 035

But she woke up not long after we picked up my mom & dad. She was excited to see her Bubba & Vivi.

Poor things, I forgot their hats & sunglasses so they’re either squinting or their eyes are closed in every picture.

We even did a little fishing. Riley got such a kick out of petting the fish. I love this picture of him kissing the fishy.

We met up with some friends later on that afternoon. Riley was so happy to have a friend to play with. He just loves Connor! Aren’t they so cute?!

I am already ready to be back at the river! Heck, I’m just ready to see some sun instead of all this rain we are getting. Blah.

Easter 2011

We spent Easter weekend, which was also TAG’s birthday weekend at our sister & brother-in-law’s house. But before we left,  Friday morning we had a little family cake & present time. Happy 31st Birthday to my man! I love you & am so thankful for all you do for me as a wife & us as a family!

Picture 012

Riley was so cute singing Happy Birthday to TAG. Unfortunately, since Riley was so impatient to cut into the cake :0) I didn’t get a picture of TAG & the kids all together. Oops!

Picture 011

We spent all day Saturday out on the river & it was so nice to finally be back out on the water. I will try to post more about that tomorrow.

Sunday morning the Easter Bunny had come to Aunt Brooke & Uncle Josh’s house when we woke up! When we were walking the kids into the living room, I asked Riley who came to the house last night & his response was “A wrabbit!”

After we checked out the loot, we dyed Easter eggs.

And ate chocolate for breakfast. Averly had the evidence all over her face.

Then it was time to get ready for church. After the service was over we had a little Easter egg hunt for all the kids at the church. It was Riley & Averly’s first time to hunt eggs. It sounds crazy that Riley is 2.5 & never hunted Easter eggs, but his first Easter he was only about 5 months old & last year I had just had Averly so we were not really up to it. He was so funny because he found his first egg, then stopped to open it, thinking he was done. He didn't quite understand that he was supposed to get as many as he could & then open them. TAG helped him & eventually he caught on & got a lot of eggs. Averly even found some by herself too!

This was about the closest to a picture of the two of them that I could get the whole day. Even though their faces don’t really look like it, they were so excited & would not be still for a picture.

Riley was ready to get started!

Although there was a lot of other kids there, I only managed to get this cute picture of Luke showing me his eggs.

Averly was excited to check out all of her goodies, too.

Uncle Josh is Riley’s new buddy!

One of our rare family photos. It is so hard to get 4 people to smile & look at the camera at once! Ha!

Happy Easter!

The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay. Then go quickly and tell His disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him. Now I have told you.’ Matthew 28:5-7
