Riley-isms

I haven't posted anything in a while about what Riley is doing & saying these days & I figured it was long overdue. I know everyone believes they have the smartest kid on the planet, so I'll go right along with everyone else & say that I do. ;0) It seriously amazes me some of the things Riley is doing/saying now. It may be 100% normal for a kid his age to be doing some of this, but just let me have my glory moment for my little one. So here is some "Riley-isms" for your enjoyment (or maybe just for me to look back on later :0)).

He knows several animal sounds & will make them when we ask him "what does a ________ say?" & also if he sees them. Some of his favorites are:
Dog, cat, sheep, monkey, lion, bird, horse, cow, bird.

Also knows what a train, clock, & truck "say"--(choochoo, tick tock & vvvvvm).

Asks for "nanas" when he wants a banana & if he sees a picture of one in a book.

Points up at the sky & says "mooooo" looking for the moon.

When an airplane flies over he points & says "pa".

Loves brushing his teeth & points at his toothbrush saying "too too too" until I brush them. Sometimes we brush them 4 times a day! Ha!

If you ask him how old he is, he will hold up 1 finger & then clap! People get the biggest kick out of him doing this. But he has gotten a little lazy lately & just holds his whole hand up & then claps so we've got to keep working on this one!

Asks for juice & says it so clearly. I love hearing him say juice.

Plays peek-a-boo by hiding his face, but instead of saying "peek-a-boo" when he uncovers it he says "dea e eees!", which translates to "there he is!" TAG always plays peek-a-boo with his & says that & Riley has picked it up very quickly.

Calls my dad "Bubba" so I guess that is going to be his name. We are still not sure what my mom is going to be called. He also says my sisters name, Jamie, but he says "Maaaaaamie". Precious. TAG's sister is still trying to get him to say Brooke but he just won't do it for some reason!

Gets our phones, holds them up to his hear & says "yea...yea....hey...yea" as if he is actually talking to someone. However, if there actually is someone on the line he won't talk, but just smiles & listens.

Tries to sing. I swear this kid may be a singer someday. He especially loves to sing with my mom. He bobs his little head back & forth & dances while he is "singing".

Knows where his hands, feet, & nose are. We are currently working on ears. Also if I ask him where Mama's nose is, he'll point to mine.

Blows kisses any time you say I love you.

These are just some of the more recent things he has started doing. He amazes us every day even if it's nothing actually amazing about what he is doing. Just the mere thought of him being my son is amazing enough for me.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I have my next doctors appointment Wednesday. Nothing big to happen at this one, but we do find out if we are having a boy or a girl in about 2 weeks!
