The Racing Turtle and Riley loves Mamie

Riley loves loves loves his Aunt “Mamie”.



He also {now} loves this racing turtle that we pulled out of his closet after almost a year of it sitting in there! He got it for his Birthday last year, but never really showed much interest in it until now. It has office chair wheels on it & let me tell you this thing will fly! Especially down the hill at Bubba & ViVi’s house!



We pushed him up & down the hill for what seemed like hours until my dad came up with the clever idea to tie a rope to the turtle. Much easier on the back :0).

Six months ago today

God blessed TAG & I beyond belief with this precious baby girl. That day I thought my heart was filled with as much love as possible, but every day I'm proved wrong. Each day that love grows more & more.

Now, on this day my heart feels like it could burst with all the love I have, yet I know it will be bigger & fuller tomorrow and the next day, and the next…

To my daughter,


Words really can’t express the joy or completeness you bring me. I thank God every single day for you. That you are healthy. That you are perfect. That you are mine. I promise that your Dad & I will raise you to be the best person you can be. To love others & the Lord. I know you will do great things throughout your life. These past 6 months have flown by but it seems like you have been a part of our family forever. I can’t even remember what it was like before you. Happy 1/2 Birthday sweetheart! I love you so so much!

Some things that you are doing now:

You raise your eyebrows when you are listening to us talk. You really try to comprehend what we are saying. 

You have the cutest facial expressions when you talk.

You really go after what you want, whether it's a toy, food, or someone's hair! You are a determined little booger!

You are great at passing objects from one hand to another.

You love watching every move Riley makes & you will just laugh so hard at him when he's entertaining you.

You are sitting up great now!

You have tried all kinds of foods. Some things you have eaten are peas, carrots, bananas, apples, sweet potatoes, avocado, pears, plums, green beans, squash, prunes, watermelon & cantaloupe. So far you like it all!

You are showing a little interest in crawling, but not much.

You immediately roll to your side when we lay you in your crib. You are going to be like me & be a side-sleeper. 

You are also going to be like me when it comes to your hair. Bless your heart. I'm sorry for this one. Normally your hair sticks straight up on the top of your head. It looks like a little baby chicken. Fuzzy & full of volume. But a couple days ago after it rained, we went outside & your hair fell flat to your head. Looks like there's no curls in your future. Just straight-as-a-board hair.

You have 2 teeth, but I don't think it will be like that for much longer!

You brushed your teeth for the 1st time on September 11, 2010.

You usually take 2 naps per day. One for about 45 minutes around 10:00, another for 1-2 hours around 2:00. Sometimes you take a 3rd little cat nap around 5:00 or so.

You just started making a growling noise. It is hilarious & oh so cute!

You tried Mum Mums for the first time on Friday, September 10th. You liked it alright, but weren't too crazy about them.

You recently started splashing in the tub. I think Big Brother may have had a little to do with that. He's been instructing you lately. :0)

You talk so much now...and so loud! I thought you were going to be our quiet child, but I may be wrong!

You are currently experiencing your first cold/slight ear infection. At the Dr. yesterday he said that your ears were just a little red, but that a full-on ear infection could be right around the corner. The past 2 nights have been pretty much sleepless for us all. I hate seeing you hurt, but you seem a little better today. I sure hope the antibiotics clear everything up soon!

You are wearing either a size 3 or 4 in diapers, mainly size 6-9 months in clothes. 

You weigh 22 lbs even, little Miss Piggy! :0)

You are beautiful as can be!

You are an absolute joy in my life! I'll love you forever & always sweet girl!
