Pumpkin Patch 2010

Sunday after church we headed out to the pumpkin patch. I was so excited to take Averly for the first time & for Riley to go back. He had so much fun last year. It was a great day to go, just way too hot! After that cool front that we had last week it was back up into the 90s. Despite everybody sweating to death we had a blast.

I just love watching my babies explore & experience new things. It truly warms my heart to see them learn & have fun doing it!

7 Months Old

My baby girl turned 7 months old on Friday, October 8th. I cannot believe how fast she is growing & changing. She started pulling up in her crib last week so we lowered it on October 6. She seems like such a big girl sleeping in that low crib now!

Speaking of sleep, we’ve had a few sleepless nights lately. Every morning I come up with some excuse as to why she didn’t sleep the night before. Whether it be her teeth bothering her, a head cold, being cold during those few days of chilly weather that we had, to just being spoiled & wanting her mommy to hold her. Overall, she is a pretty good sleeper, but every now & then she gets a wild hair & doesn’t like to sleep. As tired as I am, I don’t mind getting up with her because I know one day I will miss it.

A few other things my angel baby is doing nowadays:

She can go from lying to sitting up.

She is babbling a lot more lately.

Soooo close to CRAWLING!! She has the stance & the motions down, it’s just a matter of putting it all together. She can do one “crawl” then she falls over. I love her determination & watching her go after things on the floor. If she wants it, she will find a way to get it!

Miss Piggy weighs 22 lbs 8 oz! She  & Riley both got their shots (her 6 month & his 2 year) 3 weeks ago along with their 1st flu shots. She is wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes, but I have already put her in a couple 12 month outfits. Wearing a size 4 diaper, the same size as her 2 year old brother! I just love my little round sugar pooh!

She is still nursing & is obviously eating great. I think we’ve tried just about every food that she can eat so far & she has liked it all. I am still making most of her baby food. She loves to be able to feed herself the little crunchies & toast. I tried to give her some juice in a sippy cup a couple days ago, but she didn’t understand how to drink it so she just chewed on the spout.

 

I could just eat her up!! Much like she is eating her monkey!

4 Years of Wedded Bliss

On this day 4 years ago, I married my best friend. TAG, thank you for being such a great husband. For being patient with me when I am sometimes hard to deal with. For all the back & foot rubs you give me. For loving me for me. For loving the Lord. For providing unconditionally for your wife & children. For just being YOU.

First of all, yes, we really do have that much peanutbutter. One of TAG’s clients owns a small grocery store & knows how fast we go through the stuff (considering it’s about all that Riley will eat) so he gives it to us in bulk every now & then.

Different

Yesterday Averly, who is a “dress girl” wore pants and socks for the first time since she was teeny tiny. It was so different, but so cute to see her in this outfit.



Also, she let me feed her a bottle for the first time ever last night. She has always been fine for TAG or my mom to feed her, but she would never let me. I guess she wanted the real thing! Haha! Well last night I attempted it before bedtime & she let me with no fuss! Again, it was different, yet sweet at the same time.



My baby girl is constantly changing every day. I love & embrace each stage of this precious little life so much!

I may have cried a little

Last night I got home from a girls trip to Florida with some old college friends (more on that later) & my little, sweet, darling, sometimes clingy Mama’s girl did not want to come to me. I don’t know if she just didn’t recognize me because I finally have a tan for the first time since she was born! Or if she was mad at me for leaving her for 4 days. Either way, it hurt my heart & I teared up a little. Before this trip, I had never been away from her over night at all. Plus it was the longest I have ever gone without seeing Riley. I missed them both more than I could stand! I had a great time with my friends, but the drive home seemed to take forever because I was so anxious to hug on my babies. Riley greeted me at the door with a big hug & a kiss. He told me all about his weekend that he had with his Dada (also more on that to come), but when I picked Averly up, her bottom lip quivered & she started crying while reaching for my mom, who kept her while I was gone. I felt like my baby had forgotten who I was but after we played for a while & got “re-acquainted” it was as if I never left. Her sweet smile came back & then she literally wouldn’t let me put her down. Which I was totally fine with because I didn’t want to! Heck, she missed me so much that she wanted to hang out all night last night. Needless to say we were up for most of the night. As tired as I am today I am so glad to be with my angel babies.
