It’s a Family Tradition!

On Mother’s Day weekend we had our annual little family reunion. It’s nothing big--just my dad’s family & his brother’s family all getting together & having fun! The morning after the circus we got up early (TAG didn’t even sleep because he just got home from work) & we headed out to see the fam at a state park where we rented some cabins!

We have a different theme each year. This year it was a cowboy theme for the “Riley Round-Up”.

Averly spiked a fever as soon as we got there. Poor baby didn’t feel good all weekend, but tried her best to have fun.



We always have games planned, but it was raining so we had to play inside. Here’s April ready for the stick horse races!

Oh yes. We did. We had pogo stick challenges. I, along with many others, have never used a pogo stick. So it was pretty interesting. I think April, or maybe Uncle Bob won with the most bounces before falling off.

Just FYI…sandals, wet ground, and pogo sticks do not mix well. I almost broke a toe.

Our family picture. Poor baby girl. And actually that night Riley woke up with a fever too. We ended up taking him to the ER that Sunday night with a fever of 105+, had to do chest x-rays &  found that he had Bronchitis. I’m sure that’s what Averly had too, but it just had to run its course.



Can’t wait to do it again! Hope everyone is well next time though!

The Greatest Show On Earth

The circus came to town about a month ago so we jumped at the opportunity to go. TAG ended up having to work  that night, so it was just me & the kids. And an extra ticket. Money well wasted. But even though we missed Dada, we had a blast. I loved watching their little eyes take it all in. It truly was magical to them & that made it even better for me.

The night didn’t start off too smoothly though. Riley had a slight meltdown before we left. He probably didn’t get a nap that day. I honestly can’t remember.



A quick supper at Chick-fli-A & the whole mood was lifted! They were in awe when we got there. Just the music & lights amazed them.

But they were fun!

We ran into Haley & Eli during intermission who just happened to be sitting about 4 rows up from us! They are a couple of the kids’ sweet friends at preschool.



I liked the elephants the best! ;0)
