Half Year Mark

Now back to February. My little boy is growing up so fast! Too fast! Even though it has come & gone, I still can't believe Riley has already passed the 1/2 year mark! It really does not feel like it has been that long since he was born. That almost 6 pound baby that we brought home from the hospital last August has now more than doubled in weight & is becoming his own person. He is developing quite the personality that is really starting to shine through. He loves to laugh & is constantly smiling. Always happy & such a sweetie. He loves to cuddle & for me to rub his sweet face when he is going to sleep. He is my angel baby. We are truly blessed in so many ways to have him as our son. Thank you Riley, for the best 1/2 year (and then some) of our lives!

February 5th was Great-Grandma Ruth's 80th birthday so we headed to Iuka to celebrate. She was so excited to see Riley. Brooke & I made cupcakes the day before to take for everyone at the assisted living facility. Some turned out prettier than others, but we won't judge-they all tasted great! We sang Happy Birthday & had a big ole time watching her open all of her gifts.

Riley wanted to help her open them!

The next week was FULL of milestones for Riley! Literally. In just one week he

Sat up by himself Held his own bottle Fed himself a teething cookie

Tried fresh fruit--watermelon to be exact (and he didn't really care for it)

Drank juice from a sippy cup
Turned 6 months old

Started getting his 3rd tooth in
AND had his first Valentine's Day! Whew! That was a lot!

What a BIG boy I have!! So big in fact, that at his 6 month check-up he weighed 17 lbs, 8 oz & was 27 1/2 in long. I chalk it up to all the baby food that I am making for him. Or most of it anyway. I wasn't about to puree any meats! Haha! I am so glad I decided to make his food, though. I feel better knowing exactly what he is eating & who prepared it. Plus, it's so much cheaper! For the food that I didn't make, I have tried to buy organic. I don't know that I will keep doing the primarly organic route once he gets older or not but for now, (mostly) organic it is!

And now of course...some pictures just because I love them. :0)
